Beauty of nature, art and architecture told through visual storytelling and light at the new Hart of De Hoge Veluwe

De Hoge Veluwe National Park is facing an enormous challenge. The current Visitor center in the middle of the Park no longer suffices. A new Hart of De Hoge Veluwe is designed by De Zwarte Hond and Monadnock. The concept has dynamic graphics on the arched ceiling of the building.

At Beersnielsen we elaborated on the chandelier that creates a shadow with lo-tech principles. No video screen, but simple projections. The chandeliers do not only create the visual story on the ceiling, they are also used for functional lighting.

Prototyping galore

Lighting design is not only about creating somethign on paper or in the computer. In the case of an integrated light plan that includes a physical product, it is also about making hpysical prototyes. With an object like this, several prototypes were made in ranging fidelities to work towards a final design that is approved by all the involved stakeholders.

This project was performed as member of the Beersnielsen design team.
