Marking the nautic history in the city of Den Helder
Extra Context Part of Project
Artist Marc Ruygrok designed the ‘Maritiem icoon’, which is a gift from the Dutch Marine to the city of Den Helder. It is placed at the station area, redesigned by West8. The artwork is a massive 6-meter high brass object. At Beersnielsen I made 3D-models, renders and scale prototypes of the artwork.
It was part of technical development of its formgiving and text placement. The Bolder shows various words and sentences that are important to the history of Den Helder. Also, we designed the light plan to illuminate the Bolder to make it as striking at night as it is during the day.
