Creating an appealing atmosphere with light at a high-end foodcourt in Den Haag

Transforming an existing ministry into a restaurant

In between the governmental buildings lie the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport. The architecture studio OMA redesigned the office building into a high-end food court. Several different restaurants are housed under one roof, giving the visitors a wide selection of different dishes and food types. Not only for a quick bite to eat, the Hofhouse is opened until the late evening.

The light plan focused on creating an appealing atmosphere by adding contrast. It is clearly visible from outside, drawing people in. Whether it is a sunny day or end of the evening, the high-quality finish of the interior concept is emphasized.
